Rev 16:2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.
Rev 16:3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man; and every living soul died in the sea.
Rev 16:4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
Rev 16:5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.
Rev 16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
Rev 16:7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
Rev 16:8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
Rev 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
Rev 16:10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
Rev 16:11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
Rev 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
Rev 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
Rev 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
Rev 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon...
Rev 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
Rev 16:18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
Rev 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
Rev 16:20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
Rev 16:21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

The Seven last plague bring to mind the 10 plague on Egypt. As we have done prior we will use what God has said and done in the past to clarify what He has told us about the future.

1. The plagues of Egypt were literal.
2. The plagues of Egypt were directed either at a Egyptian god’s or was designed to demonstrate that the Egyptian religion was powerless to protect them. There is therefor a symbolic meaning in the literal plagues
3. God’s people were protected from the last 7 plagues on Egypt. "And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be." Exo 8:23
4. God’s people were delivered at the end of plagues.
5. Egypt did not repent.
6. Some of the plagues of Revelation are similar ( Sea/waters, boils, hail, darkness)., indication that God (though John) intents us to use the context of the Egyptian plagues to interpret the "7 last plagues".

1^st Plagues

Grievous sore would be similar to a small pox like illness

Symbolic meaning

The Church and State union will demand conformity to their false teachings or there with be physical persecution. "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:" Rev 13:16 The truth is: only in Christ is there physical security."

The promise: "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." Psa 37:25

Literal fulfilment

The "sea became as the blood" would destroy much of the world food supply and cause an economic would wide collapse.

Symbolic meaning

The Church and State union will demand conformity to their false teachings or there with be no buying or selling. "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." Rev 13:17 The truth is: only in Christ is there economic security.

The promise: " But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:" Mat 6:20

3^rd Plagues

Literal fulfilment

"Rivers and fountains of waters became blood " indicated the drinking and irrigation waters become polluted, making the drinking of it dangerous.

Symbolic meaning

The Church and State union demand conformity to their false teachings or there with be no life. "And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed." Rev 13:15 They also say that they hold the keys to eternal life. The truth is: only is Christ is there eternal life.

The promise: "Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:10-12

Literal fulfilment

"Sun scorch men with fire" would indicate a loss of atmospheric properties that protect the earth from the heat of the sun or possible a change in the properties on the sun.

Symbolic meaning

The Church and State union will demand conformity to their false teachings and there will be no worship day except for theirs. The Church calms the right to "change time an laws". The pagan day of worship "Sun-day will be enforced as the "Sabbath". Just as the sun which brings life to our planet will then bringing pain and death, the Sabbath (which is a memorial of the creation of life) in it changed form (Sunday), is bring spiritual pain and death to the Sunday keepers. The truth is: Only in Christ is there worship. Jesus is Lord of Sabbath and "the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God" and "we ought to obey God rather than men".

The promise: For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mat 16:25.26

Literal fulfilment

And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain. What is this darkness that is specifically directed to the leadership (seat) of the Church / State power? It may be physical darkness or mental darkness but in any case it causes pain but no repentance. Mental darkness would indicate a crime wave.

Symbolic meaning

The Church and State union will demand conformity to their false teachings because (they believe) there can be no spiritual truths not sanctioned by them. The true is: only is Christ is there light and truth. The apostate church/state power is in deep darkness and there is no spiritual light in them.

The promise: " He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him." 1 John 2:10

Literal fulfilment and Symbolic meaning

The Euphrates drying up indicates that the people (water symbolizes people see Rev 17:15) supporting modern Babylon (church/state power) stop supporting them. This prepares the way for Christ to come. Cyrus was a type of Christ when he liberated the Jews from historic Babylon he was a king from the east. We conclude that the "kings of the east" is a reference to Christ and his followers.

"And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty ." Rev 16:13,14 These text indicates that Satan knows his time is short. He is working desperately to keep his follows on track. He is apparently allowed to manifest more supernatural powers than before. The truth is: God is in control

Promise: Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

A brief comment on the battle of Armageddon:

The  "the spirits of devils"...  "go forth"... "to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty."   " "And he (Satan) gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon."   This is Satan's last battle againt God's people.  The response of God is the 7th plagues - all heaven comes to rescue God's children.

"7^th Plagues

Literal fulfilment

"the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air" indication the entire earth would be involve. It is done indicated the Great Controversy between Christ and Satan is over. The earth begins to brake apart Christ is on His way to rescue His people.

Symbolic meaning

Satan follows have placed there security in mother earth and the destruction of the earth at the second coming of Christ is to them a overwhelming surprise. The truth is: our only security is in Christ.

The promise: "A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked ." Psa 91:7+8
